Awareness & Advocacy Activities of CPCIB

CPCIB awareness activities are focussed on increasing knowledge and acceptance of palliative care among the general public and health care providers.

 

Increased awareness about palliative care will strengthen medical referral systems to increase the number and timeliness of referrals to palliative care for children who would benefit from palliative care.

  • Development of awareness materials (leaflets, posters) about palliative care

  • Seminars and other awareness events to increase knowledge of Children’s Palliative

  • Care among health care providers

  • Development of a website where locally appropriate palliative care materials are available

  • Meetings and other advocacy activities with policy makers to encourage inclusion of palliative care into National Health Care Plans and Policies

  • Support for and participation in international and national awareness day activities, including International Childhood Cancer Day, World Cancer Day, and World Hospice and Palliative Care Day
